Title: Greetings
Post by: Andre on August 31, 2019, 05:46:50 AM
After the "old" site disappeared, I thought the Community dissolved.
But I have the good surprise to see that TGP is back!

Glad to see you again gentlemen.
Hope you are all well?

Yea. It kind of sucked we lost the content of the old site. Thanks @godaddy

Those of us still here are doing well. I should let those who choose to reply themselves.  :)
I'm doing very well. The summer has been good here but coming to an end.

How have you been?

Hello Rick,

Nice to read you are doing very well.

You ask how I have been?

Well, a lot of work and IRL obligations that didn't leave me free time and kept me away from video games.

But things are going slower now and I have time for me.
I have even built a gaming rig and tested two single player games...

But I miss our operations in GR:AW sometimes (I don't have my copy anymore).
Ghost Recon series is evolving and the 4 players coop multiplayer session is now the rule.
Despite the limited slots, Ghost Recon: Wildlands is not bad at all — anyone interested in a deployment in Bolivia ?
Not sure about the new opus : Breakpoint. Not yet played myself.

To be continued... :)

I'm not sure I'd pin my hopes on a good new Ghost Recon.
It's been 13 years sine the first one came out. The second one wasn't that good.
I think the last one, the name escapes me, was a third person game...

We'll see.

There's a name I haven't seen since I was a wee'lad :P

Alas, good to hear you're doing well Andre; much like myself..

Can't speak much for Alpha - he hasn't even joined the site yet.. As far as I know, he's been busy with work/children/home life much like the rest of us.. though I still see him pulling up some Single Player games here, and there.

As for the GRAW fiasco; the newest rendition of Ghost Recon games is going to be called "Breakpoint" .. a Third Person rendition of the series.. most likely following the models of Division, and the like.
I saw some game-play, and it looks OK.. but probably not the style of play you all remember.. nor myself.

Cheers!

Hello Zebra,

Indeed, I am a sort of gamer from the past, hehe.
Long time no see. But I am back and happy to discover the new Forum.

Good to read you are fine.

About your channel on Twitch, I have just tried to follow the link in your signature, but I got a « Sorry. Unless you've got a time machine, that content is unavailable ».
Is it closed? Else, do you stream some GRAW operations sometimes?

Sorry for such a late reply - I'm terrible at keeping forum conversation; byproduct of working all the damn time. Oof.

As for the Breakpoint comment you had made, looks like the results are in, and not so good. Lol
Lot of backlash on that game from what I have been reading online. A co-worker of mine has the game for his Playstation-4, and enjoys it..but he enjoys most any games like that regardless.

As for my twitch link - must have changed it a while back, and don't remember.

Here would be the correct link (https://www.twitch.tv/zebra67/) if you'd like to shoot a follow to see when I pop on to stream. Usually it's just casual games with my S/O, and a few brews...but sometimes it's EVE Online (virtual spaceships/spreadsheets), and brews lol. In general.. I casually stream to have some beers, and chat with friends that pop in to chat, and hang out.

Cheers! Maybe I'll see you on there sometime.

Not too bad, myself... Didn't do much in the way of festivities... having a couple brews; watching some youtube mostly. Just enjoying my day off before working again tomorrow. Oof

Rick helped me find a good copy of GRAW in private manners - though, not long after I had some IRL b.s. come up, and never got a chance to play again; granted I didn't play much GR/GRAW with you guys anyway.. could be fun in the future. Though, as of late I'm not too much into the FPS scene... a few cool games I enjoyed, like Destiny 2, and Borderlands were a couple exceptions.

zebra..........whatcha playing?

Mostly EVE Online, and a couple indi/arcade type games with the S/O .. I'm pretty boring this time of year. Heh heh

i have played some Hunter Showdown, let me tell you, it could be alot of fun with a GR state of mind

I saw some gameplay for The Hunt, but never played myself.. I did really enjoy a bit of Dead by Daylight.. haven't played much but from my experience it offers some real good adrenaline rushes. :P
