map_downloads.xml
« on: February 12, 2019, 04:42:45 AM »
Hello

I may be asking a question a little silly, but does "map_downloads.xml" still work ?

Because manually placing a .bundle file in its "custom_levels" folder is not complicated (for many years ..)
I always do like that.

But I was wondering if a file "map_downloads.xml" (up to date)
could still have a function currently to download a missing mission ingame (as it was done a very long time ago already)

Ps: With pleasure I see that you make available new missions and also old ones that are updated,
thank you very much for your work Fishmonger, .. and thank you also to the Team for Tests  8)

I don't know. Try it. Isn't that difficult. The map always had to sit on a remote web server that allows the .bundle mime type, so there's your biggest problem unless you have full control over the hosting site. That's about it.

I stopped using the file a long time ago, because ultimately, you still have to restart the game after a map download, so what's the point? We just grab our maps from the map cycle link and that's all it takes.

Totally agree on having to restart the game in both cases,
as everyone I have been using for a very long time downloading files manually,
it's because someone offered me this file,
I was curious to know here if it could still work today simply.
